"Our state has personified the American Spirit since its early beginnings. Our resouirces, beauty and people have endured and flourished since Colonial Times. We attempted to illustrate our history, resources and facets of life through four seasons, from mountains to seashore and from founding fathers to present political activity. The blocks surround and support the national symbols just as our state's pride and patriotism are interwined with and support the American Spirit."
